SUPPORT US and join a growing and ambitious organisation"The Drawing Room is the only UK venue dedicated exclusively to exhibitions about what drawing might mean today. Exhibitions are not based on a medium, but on an idea. The gallery’s focus is unique, as is its identity. As much as anything else, The Drawing Room is a space to think, as well as to look at the very different contributions artists showing here have made to the activity of drawing, which is as much a mental activity as a physical process”. Adrian Searle, Chief art critic, The Guardian
THE DRAWING ROOM is the only UK public gallery space dedicated to the investigation and presentation of contemporary drawing practice. It provides opportunities for emerging and established artists across nationalities, generations and cultures to develop their practice, supporting the production of new work and acting as a catalyst to test the parameters of drawing. The programme incorporates a wide range of ideas from the traditional to the experimental and has established a reputation as a critical platform for the promotion of drawing: its practice, theory and methodology. It is located within Tannery Arts, an established artists’ studio group, and has charitable status. By becoming a Patron of The Drawing Room you will have an opportunity to give significant support to a growing and ambitious organization. The Drawing Room has no core funding and money is raised through grants for projects and fundraising initiatives which directly funds our exhibition and education programme.
